ROC Discipline Preview
by Raffi Tasci
In preparation for the Quick-Draw mechanic, there will be more card-drawing abilities. This will allow you to set up your Arsenal to use the Quick-Draw benefits more often. There is even a set of six cards, one for each discipline, that allow you to draw 2 cards as a positive action and get a bonus effect depending on what you draw. (See Perceive below)
If you thought Bombers was bad, just wait. We have more XDMG cards, but on top of that, we have XDMG prevention. Use it for insurance or to save your team’s MVP. All of a sudden, Little Jinx’s ability is looking safer and safer.
Did you like Gelhar’s Spear Lobber? Did you have a hard time with Death’s Dust, Most Infections Disease, or Zdantal’s Gift? Well, now there are more zones and more zone manipulation cards so that you can have the perfect setup.
Minions are not just for Portal, Cyber, and Mystic anymore! Bio-tek will have a handful of minions. How cool is that?
On top of that, there are more ways to unset your minions... Even with Rage! That’s right, there is a handful of minions that have a Rage value and some of them have a Rage of 0! that means they come into play raging! Cards that raise and lower rage like Peptide Growth Hormone will work on them too!
These are just some of the new and awesome effects and abilities you will see. Cards that key off cheer and rage make way for more powerful abilities. Ashley gets company as ROC will have a set of Universal discipline cards–cards that can be played by any gladiator regardless of discipline. I’m not even going to mention tons of CP gain that will make Energy Collector look like a kid’s toy. Come back for more articles including one on the new gladiators, plus one on the strategy of some of these awesome new cards.
