Everything stopped as Lila dropped her control over the Orb of Scrying and it started to fall fast into the pit. Without thinking, I jumped into the abyss.
They say that when you are in a near-death situation you get glimpses of your life. Well, I didn’t… I don’t know if it was the over-confidence in me or if it was another thing, but at that moment my thoughts were only on catching the Orb.
Oberon threw a rope into the pit and in a lucky shot I grabbed it… and there was I… with the Orb in one of my hands and with my other hand, I was grabbing the rope that was sustaining my life.
Now would come the worst part of the job for Oberon and Lila; they had to pull me up. And yes, even with the help of her Psi powers it was still a difficult task, as they would have to pull me without making me drop the Orb.
