The psi Blast hit just an inch over Trace's left shoulder, making her feel a bit woozy from the magical splash.
The Cupertino Arena roared with delight.....
She ducked and rolled to the right, barely dodging another powerful blast from her powerful demon opponent.
"D*mn, I cant seem to shake this guy!"
As she thought this a blast from behind sent her sprawling to the ground.
Groggily, She attempted to stand, and felt a hand lift her forcefully from behind.......a gun was also jammed at her spine.
She turned, her face streaked with blood from her last fall, and saw the eyes of her teammate, crowd favorite David Dangers, Also known as Freakshow.
"uhhh-----David?" her words came out painfully.
"Don't speak luv, you knew this would 'appen eventually, winning is everything 'ere."
Freakshow landed a blow to the back of her head with his phase pistol's butt, forcing her to her knees.
As the crowed cheered for their favorite winner, he whispered in her ear.
"But I must say, 'twas nothing personal, And ill give you some advice........make it look painful, then when you awaken, see the doc on the corner of A-block 13 east"
Spitting blood and a tooth into his face she scoweled: "Screw You!"
Freakshow gently chided her "you just don' get it do ya, luv?"
The crowd chanted for the deathblow, and knew that he would make it worth their while.
Freakshow let out a mighty yell, took one last look at trace, hit a button on his pistol and shot her right in the back.
Trace felt the heat enter her back and radiate from within.....she saw the crowd cheering and going wild.....she saw her blood coating the ground.......
She saw the world turn black......
