It's been a long time since we talked combat. But a couple nights ago Bryan showed a couple baddies pummeling Maya and I realized that we're getting close to battle time.
1. We polished up the system. It's slick, fast, and aims for simplicity. You get to pick one action from each menu (Item, Attack, Defense) and then execute. The idea is that you need to plan your combos and know when to use each action.
2. We have new artwork for all of the battle icons and menus. It's finished. You can see some of it in the screenshot.
3. And as mentioned, Bryan is lifting his combat engine and installing it (I like to call it "weaving") in to our current build. He's warned me not to look until he's finished. I am too scared anyhow.
I believe we're turning a long corner here - excited.
