CT board game fever is spreading. Thanks to the fellas at Geek Fever Games, we got to attend the first annual CT Festival of Indie Games in New Haven.
And it was a blast. The great thing about a smaller local con is that you actually get to meet like-minded folks from your area - folks who frequent the same game shops, have play groups, little golden tidbits of advice, and local press/reviewers, etc. And since the venue was a historic building with all sorts of fun nooks-and-crannies, it was fun to explore and get to know the various designers, most of whom were from CT or nearby.
Ophidian Wars got some great play / love, and we also showcased a couple other prototypes we have in the works (Gatuca and This is Only a Test). Nobody took down the reigning Ophidian Wars champ, however!
Purple Pawn is a great fellow who covered the event, and Late to the Table was set up with a live stream too. I finally got to see Brass Empire up close and meet the designer, and made a new local friend with my table-neighbor DPH Studioz, who had two gorgeous new games on display.
Just all around great fun for #tabletopday.
